I have 2 Lanterns paired together, these are the same make and model just different sizes and would look great on a shelf together. These are in good working condition, the smaller lantern hasn't been updated to an electric lightbulb source so It's still in it's primative state and utilizes a candle for a light source.
*Magic lanterns, the forerunners of modern slide projectors, emerged in the 17th century and gained popularity as entertainment and educational tools through the 19th and early 20th centuries. These devices used a light source, originally a candle or oil lamp, to project images painted or printed on glass slides onto a wall or screen. They were widely used in homes, schools, and public lectures to illustrate stories, scientific concepts, and travelogues. These particular magic lanterns are from the late 19th or early 20th century, judging by its construction and design. The use of metal, the style of the lens, and the ventilation chimney on top are all characteristic of this period. The small emblem on the front identifies the manufacturer, adding to its historical significance.
